What buffers should I use?
We prefer PBS (phosphate-buffered saline) or TBS (tris-buffered saline). It is important that the antigen preparations not contain anything that will harm or irritate the hens, as this can interfere with egg production. High concentrations of the following chemicals are to be avoided:
Urea (0.5 molar or higher)
SDS (0.1% or higher)
Imadazole (50 millimolar or higher)
EDTA or EGTA (10 millimolar or higher)
Sodium azide (any) TOP
